Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. The Litigation Paralegal who will work closely with our attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception to trial and appeals, as well as facilitating case management throughout the firm. The role includes extensive document management, research, and legal support. This position demands high levels of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Document Management:

  • Compile, organize, and manage large-scale document collections.
  • Maintain internal case files and monitor court dockets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage eDiscovery processes.
  • Prepare, index, and manage exhibits for court filings, depositions, and trials.

Client Intake and Management:

  • Assist in client intake and retention processes.
  • Assist in client communications.
  • Maintain and organize client files and records.

Research and Drafting:

  • Perform factual and legal research, summarizing findings in written reports.
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Bluebook, cite check, and proofread various court filings and legal memoranda.

Court Filings and Proceedings:

  • Prepare and e-file documents in federal and state courts.
  • Assist with service of process and coordination of court documents.
  • Assist in all aspects of trial preparation, including attendance at trials.

Trial and Deposition Support:

  • Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas.
  • Organize and prepare witness files, exhibits, and summaries.
  • Assist in the preparation of pretrial documents and management of trial transcripts.

Administrative and Team Support:

  • Support attorneys in daily case management and secretarial tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of complex litigation paralegal experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Clio).
  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems in federal and state courts.
  • Strong cite-checking, proofreading, and Bluebooking skills.
  • Plaintiff side litigation experience.
