VOOM is seeking a visionary and seasoned Head of Insurance to spearhead our insurance strategy and operations.
As Head of Insurance, you will work directly with the CEO and be responsible for driving the profitability of our insurance products and ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our customers and providing the best digital insurance solutions for the Future of Mobility.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping VOOM’s product offerings, forming strategic partnerships, and enhancing our distribution channels.

What you’ll do:

• Product Profitability: Take full ownership of the profitability and loss ratios of all VOOM insurance products.
• Strategic Leadership: Lead the development of new insurance products, focusing on the commercial auto and gig economy/sharing economy spaces.
• Distribution Partnerships: Collaborate with insurance companies, agencies, and ecosystem software platforms to build and maintain effective distribution partnerships.
• Operational Oversight: Set operational growth and profitability KPIs and engage hands-on with Excel and data analysis, overseeing rating, claims monitoring, quote-to-bind, and distribution channels.
• Underwriting & Compliance: Define, implement, and oversee underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of underwriting discipline.
• Product Innovation & Growth: Drive the development of new products and collaborate with insurers and reinsurers to optimize insurance capacity.

The ideal candidate has:

• Insurance Product Expertise: Strong background in insurance products pricing and underwriting, particularly in personal auto, commercial auto, and non-standard auto. Specific experience with rideshare and/or motorcycle insurance is a great plus.
• Strategic Distribution: Proven experience in developing and managing strategic distribution partnerships for B2C insurance products.
• Product Development: Demonstrated experience in insurance product creation, reinsurance, filing, and rating processes.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Important Note: This position is 100% remote from anywhere in the US.
